Welcome to My Medicine Bag

Get to Know Us and Our Mission

The medicines that you see here in our shop are available because of the time and energy I have put in to traveling to many places across the world and building these connections with the indigenous communities first hand. These communities and their medicines have provided so much healing for me that it has been a great pleasure and honor to give back by purchasing their art, medicines, and work. I have sat first hand in many ceremonies with these indigineous communities to learn their ways. I have been through many different forms of initiations as well as been taught and practiced the ways to work with and administer these medicines. It is very important to me that the medicines are administered and worked with in a way that is reverent and harmonious. So, I put in great amounts of time and work to provide education and personal communication with customers and clients all over the world. This education and shares will continue to broaden as I deepen my own relationships with these indigineous communities, the plants, and my spirit. All the medicines provided in our shop are made by the tribes and indigineous people firsthand. They are recipes passed down and worked with for 1000s of years. This work is very ancestral leading back to our original ancestors; the plants. By supporting My Medicine Bag you are also supporting these indigineous leaders, artisans, medicine carriers, and communities. Much of the money goes back to them in various ways. The money also supports my ability to continue to travel to these communities to offer further support as well as further self study; educating myself so I can in turn come back and educate to the best of my ability us in the Western World also desiring these natural ancient ways of healing and self mastery. The medicines and art that are provided here in My Medicine Bag shop will shift depending upon where I am traveling to at that time. I buy and purchase most of these items firsthand from these communities in Central and South America. What I don't purchase firsthand I have built relationships with and am now able to get sent to me here in the states. Our medicines are always fresh and I get them in smaller quantities at a time. They are shipped by plane which means fresh medicine always. Aside from the medicines we also have a collection of other art here. Much of it made by indigenous hands. However, there is art that has also been made by me (Angela) as well as beaded things made by my Mom (Anabelle). Each of the products listed in our shop will share where the items are from or who made them.

Meet Anabelle: Bead Artist

Artist. Mother of 8. Caregiver and Life giver. Behind the scenes support with shop updates and more. --- "My name is Anabelle, as a mother of 8 I needed to come up with something that I could create and do at home. Something To help me to hold onto some semblance of myself. I gave most of my time and energy to my children. This was a way for me to focus and gather my thoughts and feelings. A way to remember that having time for myself was important also. Over the years I have learned so much more abut myself and beading has become a calming centering meditation for me. I pour all the love that I wish for myself and others into each pair. It warms my heart to share these beautiful creations with all of you. To know that others will enjoy them as much as I have."
