These are authentic and real blue morpho butterfly earrings. They are covered in strong lamination to protect them and they are very light weight- no matter which size. I bought these during my travels in Peru. I collected them from an artist in a market while in Iquitos. There are a variety of shapes and sizes- some of them bottom wings and others top wings. They vary in color, iridescents, and details. Almost all are "imperfect" or have small and almost unnoticeable "flaws" but they are there. Keep this in mind when you buy them. They are perfectly imperfect. The powder of the wings may have slightly come off or there may be small cracks or breaks. However, they are minor and hardly noticed unless you analyze the wings up close. However, I find this adds to their authenticity.
You will see that I have numbered them in the pictures above. You can select the earrings by number and purchase whatever is available. They vary in price according to their size and shape. If a pair you are trying to select is unavailable it is because it has been claimed by someone else- so you may choose another pair. You will see pictures of myself wearing the earrings... they are in no particular order or specific number. I just grabbed some pairs at random to give you all some idea of what they look like on. However, they may vary in size or shape depending upon what you select when you choose a number. The number 2 pair are the largest pair as pictured in the second and twelfth photo. The last 2 photos are some examples of the sizing of some of the other pairs.
I do not know if I will get more of these once I go back to Peru. I do have more waiting to make way into the shop in the future sometime - over time- however, each pair is unique. So what is here is what is available and whatever may be released in the future is likely to be slightly different and unique just as each butterfly is different and unique.
